Would you know what to do if you saw a person in need of first aid?

Having a good understanding of emergency first aid is incredibly important for the safety of everyone and it could mean the difference between life and death.

The 4 hour Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) Annual Refresher qualification has been designed in-line with the current guidelines & requirements and is ideal for anyone who wants to learn a basic foundation of First Aid.

Successful candidates will learn the roles and responsibilities of the emergency first-aider, and will be equipped with the skills needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, such as performing CPR and controlling external bleeding.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework states that early years providers should consider whether paediatric first aiders need to undertake annual refresher training to maintain basic key skills and keep up to date with any changes to paediatric first aid procedures.

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (Annual Refresher) (RQF) qualification has been specifically designed to allow qualified paediatric first aiders to refresh their knowledge and practise essential paediatric first aid skills every year until requalification training is required.

Successful candidates will leave with a renewed confidence, having refreshed the first aid skills needed to deal with emergency situations.

All First Aiders should be able to demonstrate the following skills to pass the refresher qualification:

• Assessing an incident

• Managing an unresponsive

• casualty

• Recovery Position

• CPR and defibrillation

• Choking

• Seizures

All workplaces require a First Aider on site under Health & Safety legislation.

This qualification is only for those aged 14+

*Please note:

This is a 4 hour regulated qualification which includes a multichoice assessment at the end of the session. The hours are: 10:00-14:00. You must be able to stay for the whole session & complete the assessment or you will not be able to pass the requirements for gaining this qualification. This is a very active session with lots of moving around and observational assessments. Please ensure you only sign up to this course if you are able to move around sufficiently and get down to floor level. This session is for you to refresh your skills on an annual basis to demonstrate understanding, knowledge and skills that have already been learned on a first aid qualification.

(Adaptations can be made with the full understanding that you will need to get down to floor level if a real-life incident occurs, in which you are required to administer CPR).

There are no reimbursements for non-attendance. There are no refunds for any placements on courses. Places can be transferred over to a future course in certain circumstances & must be discussed with the centre manager.
