














Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety
QNUK Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety confirms occupational competence, provides you with the skills, knowledge and understanding of Spectator Safety and enables you to work as a Steward or Marshal at spectator events, sports grounds & stadiums.
You will develop transferable skills and understanding that can benefit you in further learning and the workplace, including good communication and interpersonal skills, time management skills, personal organisation skills, the importance of appropriate behaviours in the workplace, how to support others and teamwork in the workplace.

You will develop transferable skills and understanding that can benefit you in further learning and the workplace, including good communication and interpersonal skills, time management skills, personal organisation skills, the importance of appropriate behaviours in the workplace, how to support others and teamwork in the workplace.
You will complete the following subjects:
· Prepare for Spectator Events
· Assist with the Movement of Spectators and
· Deal with Crowd Issues at Events
· Help to Manage and Resolve Conflict
· Deal with Incidents at Spectator Events
· Support the Work of Your Team and Organisation
You must complete five mandatory units to pass this qualification.
Grading is a PASS or FAIL system.
You must complete all classroom hours, a portfolio of evidence including written workbooks & witness testimonies.
A minimum of 4 live events working as a ‘trainee’ steward is required for tutor observations.
You must complete the whole qualification within 12 months of start date.
Entry requirements:
· You must be 16 years of age or older at the start of the course.
· You must have equivalent of Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work. (If you do-not have this qualification then you will complete it on the first day of your course.)
· There is no requirement for previous experience.
· You will need to secure a work placement to complete the at work observations.
· Access to technology is required to complete the workbooks for course work assessments.
To complete this qualification:
· You must have access to live spectator events in the capacity as a trainee steward for a minimum of 4 events. The Bonny Academy can assist with applying for placements.
· You may be required to undergo a satisfactory Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check prior to being accepted to work at a live event by your work placement.
· Anyone undertaking a regulated qualification is required to prove their identity. This ensures only those with a genuine claim to the qualification can make that claim. Learners who are unwilling or unable to provide a copy of their identification prior to assessment will not be able to complete their qualification. Learners are required to provide at least 1 form of photo I.D. If photo I.D is not available, 2 forms of non-photographic I.D can be produced. You will be provided with a list of valid forms of I.D upon registration to the course.
· You will be put forward for workplace assessment only once you have completed the required learning time and have been suitably assessed in the classroom environment.
· You will be required to complete the written workbooks before assessments take place.
· Suitability for assessment may be guided by your supervisor in the workplace or your employer. Your assessor will only complete a workplace observation when you are deemed ready for one by your supervisor/employer.
· You will be assessed a minimum of two separate occasions at least 3 months apart.
You will be assessed for this qualification using a portfolio of evidence, including:
• Short Answer Questions
• Learner Project
• Assessor Observations
• Professional discussions
• Witness Statement
• Reflective Account
Learners could progress to:
· QNUK Level 3 Certificate in Spectator Safety Supervision (RQF)
· QNUK Level 4 Diploma in Spectator Safety Management (RQF)
· QNUK Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (RQF)
*This qualification is aligned to accept RPL from the Level 2 Award in the Understanding Safety at Spectator Events (AUSSE) to replace the theory element i.e. the short answer questions.
