Level 3 Award in Education & Training confirms occupational competence, provides you with the skills, knowledge and understanding of teaching & learning and enables you to work as a trainer in the field you are qualified in.

You will develop knowledge and skills based in learning theories, teaching methods, lesson planning & assessments.

Level 3 Award in Education & Training confirms occupational competence, provides you with the skills, knowledge and understanding of teaching & learning and enables you to work as a trainer in the field you are qualified in.

You will develop knowledge and skills based in learning theories, teaching methods, lesson planning & assessments.

You will complete the following subjects:

  • ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES IN TEACHING & LEARNING

  • TEACHING METHODS

  • LEARNING THEORIES

  • LESSON PLANNING

  • ASSESSMENT STRATEGIES

 

You must complete three mandatory units to pass this qualification.

Grading is a PASS or FAIL system. 

You must complete all classroom hours, a portfolio of evidence including written workbooks, learner projects & a teaching observation(microteach).

You must complete the whole qualification within 12 months of start date.

 

Entry requirements:

·      You must be 18 years of age or older at the start of the course.

·      You must have equivalent of a Level 3 qualification in the subject you will be teaching.

·      There is no requirement for previous teaching experience, but you must have relevant experience in your chosen field.

·      You will need to secure a placement to complete the microteach observation. (Other arrangements can be made if there are issues with this).

·      Access to technology is required to complete the workbooks for course work assessments.

 

 

 

To complete this qualification:

·       Anyone undertaking a regulated qualification is required to prove their identity. This ensures only those with a genuine claim to the qualification can make that claim.  Learners who are unwilling or unable to provide a copy of their identification prior to assessment will not be able to complete their qualification. Learners are required to provide at least 1 form of photo I.D. If photo I.D is not available, 2 forms of non-photographic I.D can be produced. You will be provided with a list of valid forms of I.D upon registration to the course.

·      You will complete a microteach observation only once you have completed the required learning time and have completed the coursework & your lesson plan has been approved.

·      You will be required to complete the written workbooks before observational assessment takes place.

 

 

 

You will be assessed for this qualification using a portfolio of evidence, including:

• Short Answer Questions

• Learner Project

• Observational Assessment

• Professional discussions

• Reflective Account

 

 

Learners could progress to:

·      Level 4 Award in Education & Training

·      Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA)
